Born in Jerusalem and raised in the Gush, Rav Avi attended Yeshivat Hesder Netivot and served in a combat unit in the IDF. After receiving a BA in music from The Rubin Academy of Music, he taught in many schools, worked as a youth director and as a counselor for teens at risk. He and his family then moved to Los Angeles for 4 years for Shlichut, representing Bnei Akiva and the WZO. Rav Avi then returned to Israel and now lives in Efrat with his beautiful family. Rav Avi is the Director of Chessed, overseeing Ashreinu’s dynamic Chessed program, as well as one of our tiyulim leaders. He can be found hiking, running, playing his guitar and inspiring our talmidim.
