Chef Yaakov Gelb

Chef Yaakov Gelb was born and raised in New York and developed a passion for food at a young age. After learning at Ohr Reuven in Monsey and Yeshiva in Eretz Yisrael, he pursued his culinary dreams at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, graduating in 2014. He spent a decade honing his skills at Five Star Catering, based out of New Jersey, while taking on a leadership role in the Camp HASC kitchen, where he has been a mainstay for over 20 years and has served as head chef for the past nine. Three years ago, he made Aliyah with his family to Ramat Beit Shemesh, bringing his talents to Israel. At Ashreinu, he does more than just prepare delicious meals—he provides the nourishment that fuels our talmidim, giving them the energy to learn, grow, and connect with Hashem each day.
