Rav Matis brings a unique blend of Torah scholarship and professional expertise to Yeshivat Ashreinu. Born and raised in NJ, after learning at Yeshiva University, where he earned semicha and studied in their kollel, he began his career in Jewish education as a Rebbe at Ramaz and taught in various kiruv programs. He continued his professional studies, receiving an MBA and CPA, working as an accountant while also furthering his passion for teaching.

Ten years ago, Rav Matis made Aliyah and moved to Ramat Beit Shemesh, where he now balances his work in tax accounting with his dedication to Torah learning and teaching. He delivers a daily Daf Yomi shiur in his community and gives a night seder shiur at Ashreinu, inspiring talmidim with his depth of knowledge, real-world experience, and love for learning.
